POP @ Huguenot Museum
POP project team had a recent research visit to the Huguenot
Museum in Rochester http://huguenotmuseum.org/.
Learning officer Amy Dimmock who introduced us to the museum
and collection kindly welcomed us. Amy explained the heritage of the Huguenots
as being the first recognised people to be called ‘refugees’ and discussed how
materials, skills and technology brought by the Huguenot people began to absorb
into British culture.
We also learnt how the recently opened museum had structured
the interpretation in layers of accessibility using varying scaled text font
and large graphic image displays.
There was much to be inspired by from the visit and we thank
the Huguenot Museum for their hospitality.
